Adani Power Subsidiary Wins 558 MW Five-Year PPA

Adani Power Limited (APL) said its subsidiary Moxie Power Generation Limited (MPGL) has received a Letter of Award from Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL) for the supply of 558 Megawatt (MW) net of power under a power purchase agreement for a period of five years. The contract follows a competitive bidding process in which MPGL emerged as the lowest bidder with a tariff of Rs 5.910 per unit. Supply under the agreement is scheduled to commence on 1 April 2026 and the arrangement is intended to secure medium term supply for the state.

MPGL operates a 1,200 Megawatt (MW) plant in Tuticorin configured as two units of 600 MW each, and with this award both units now have medium term power supply agreements. The company stated that more than 95 per cent of APL's total operating capacity is secured with medium to long term contracts, providing significant long term revenue visibility. Adani Power aims to achieve almost 100 per cent PPA tie up for all operational and under commissioning plants in the coming years.

The supply agreement is expected to provide an additional 558 MW of reliable power to Tamil Nadu, enhance grid stability, and support uninterrupted electricity supply to households, businesses, and industries. Securing power at a competitive tariff is expected to benefit consumers through more affordable and dependable energy. The company also noted that the coverage of operating capacity with PPAs derisks it from short term market volatility and strengthens financial predictability.
