AMPIN Commissions 50 MW Solar Plant in Chhattisgarh

AMPIN Energy Transition has successfully commissioned a 50 MWp open access solar project in Gatapar village, Bemetara district, marking its debut in the state of Chhattisgarh and its first such installation in Eastern India.

The solar plant is supplying renewable energy to Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd and a leading steel manufacturer in Chhattisgarh. Developed and operationalised in just nine months, the project underlines both the company’s execution capability and the state’s progressive Green Energy Open Access (GEOA) policy, which has created an investor-friendly business environment.

Green Power and Savings

The solar facility is expected to generate around 78.21 million units of green electricity annually. It enables industrial customers to replace over 80 per cent of their grid-based power with clean energy, leading to 30 to 40 per cent savings on electricity costs when compared to prevailing Discom tariffs.

The project also ensures a sustainable, reliable, and predictable power supply, helping industries improve cost efficiency and environmental compliance.

Expansion Plans in the Region

AMPIN is also constructing a 21 MWp project and developing an additional 100 MWp of renewable capacity in Chhattisgarh as part of its growing Eastern India portfolio. The company already operates multiple solar projects in West Bengal and is building a solar manufacturing facility in Odisha.

Leadership Commentary

Pinaki Bhattacharya, Founder, MD & CEO of AMPIN Energy Transition, noted,

“We are proud to commission our first open-access solar project in Chhattisgarh, a state with immense potential for renewable energy growth. With the state’s GEOA policy and supportive investment ecosystem, we aim to accelerate expansion and contribute to a greener Eastern India.”

Avijit Mitra, CEO of the Steel Foundry Division at Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd, added,

“Our partnership with AMPIN is a milestone in our shift towards green manufacturing at our Raipur facility. This collaboration reflects our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and adopting sustainable business practices.”

With this milestone, AMPIN strengthens its presence in Eastern India’s clean energy landscape, supporting industrial decarbonisation and the nation’s broader renewable energy goals.
