Atlas Copco Showcases Semiconductor Air Solutions at SEMICON India

Atlas Copco recently showcased its advanced compressed air technologies for semiconductor manufacturing at SEMICON India 2026, highlighting the role of clean, dry, oil-free and reliable compressed air in supporting India’s expanding semiconductor ecosystem.

With investments underway across semiconductor fabrication, packaging, testing and electronics manufacturing, reliable utility infrastructure is becoming increasingly important. Compressed air is used across automation, instrumentation and production processes, where contamination, moisture or pressure fluctuations can affect process integrity, product quality and operational reliability.

At SEMICON India 2026, Atlas Copco showcased an integrated compressed air solution comprising ZH/ZH+ oil-free centrifugal compressors, ZR/ZT screw compressors, XDG and MDG heat-of-compression dryers, TCX industrial chillers, TDV adiabatic coolers, EH heat pumps, AIRCUBEn pre-engineered compressor rooms, high-efficiency fine filtration systems and Optimizer 4.0 intelligent control.

Together, these technologies are designed to provide a consistent supply of high-quality compressed air from the utility room to the point of use. Applications include purging, cool-down and drying, photolithography equipment, instrumentation and automation.

Bhavin Pandya, General Manager, Compressor Technique Customer Center, Atlas Copco India, said, “As India's semiconductor ecosystem continues to grow, there is a growing need for reliable and efficient manufacturing infrastructure. Compressed air is indispensable in semiconductor manufacturing, where the quality, consistency and reliability of the air supply are critical. We can support semiconductor manufacturers in building future-ready operations through our local and global engineering expertise, energy-efficient oil-free compression, advanced air treatment and smart solutions. SEMICON India 2026 provides us with an excellent opportunity to engage directly with the industry and demonstrate how we can contribute to reliable and cost-effective semiconductor manufacturing.”

Designed for contamination-sensitive manufacturing environments, Atlas Copco’s solutions combine certified oil-free compression, advanced air treatment, intelligent controls and connected monitoring. The systems are aimed at helping semiconductor manufacturers improve process reliability, optimise energy consumption and reduce lifecycle costs.

Backed by more than 150 years of compressor expertise globally and over 60 years of operations in India, Atlas Copco continues to develop solutions aimed at improving productivity, energy efficiency and operational performance across industries.

Atlas Copco exhibited at Hall 1, Booth 1637, at Yashobhoomi (IICC), New Delhi, during SEMICON India 2026, held from 17 to 19 September 2026.

Bengaluru Cuts Unaccounted-for Water to 26.5 Per Cent

The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has reduced unaccounted-for water from nearly 51 per cent in 2013 to 26.5 per cent in 2025, improving efficiency across a metropolitan region of 14 mn people. The reduction has saved nearly 200 mn litres of water a day without requiring equivalent additional capacity. Bengaluru depends primarily on the Cauvery river system, with water transported over 100 km to the city. BWSSB operates six major treatment plants with combined installed capacity of 2,293 MLD and supplies nearly 150 litres per person per day. The Cauvery Water Supply Scheme S..
