Chandigarh: EV policy set to be rolled out

September 20 will be the D-day for the implementation of the electric vehicle (EV) policy in the city.

Crest will give a presentation on all of the preparations for the policy's execution at a meeting held by UT Adviser Dharam Pal on September 20. The policy was supposed to go into effect on April 1, but after the adviser instructed that the first provision for charging stations be completed, Crest began the tendering process.

The administration received the lowest bid of Rs 3. This last barrier to policy implementation has now been removed: Rs 245 per unit for a slow and medium charge, Rs 4.661 per unit for fast charging, and Rs 3 per unit for the swappable battery.

After GST and service charges, consumers are likely to pay Rs 6. 845 per unit for slow and medium charging, Rs 8.261 for fast charging and Rs 7.14 for battery swapping on availing of the EV charging facility.
