Hinduja Renewables: 80 MW in largest floating solar park

Hinduja Renewables has achieved a significant feat by securing an 80 MW unit in the monumental Omkareshwar floating solar park along the Narmada River banks in Madhya Pradesh. This remarkable park stands as the world's largest single-location floating solar installation.

The triumph was announced by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL), the project's developer and tendering authority, at a tariff rate of Rs 3.89 per kilowatt-hour (kWh). The park, being developed in two phases, is a joint effort between the Solar Energy Corporation of India and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam, symbolising collaboration in the renewable energy landscape.

Funding for the common infrastructure of this pioneering project is provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), further underscoring the international significance of this initiative.

The expansive floating solar park will feature a total installed capacity of 600 MW, harmoniously integrated into the serene landscape along the Narmada River at Omkareshwar Reservoir in Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa district. Hinduja Renewables' successful bid for an 80 MW unit firmly establishes its presence in this ambitious endeavour.

Hinduja Renewables has already achieved gigawatt-scale capacity with multiple projects in different regions of India currently under commissioning. With a proactive approach, the company is actively exploring opportunities in the realms of energy storage and green hydrogen. These efforts align with the broader vision of building a multi-gigawatt renewable energy portfolio in the years to come, contributing significantly to India's clean energy objectives.
