Jyoti Structures Wins OSH India Award 2026 for Safety Innovation

Jyoti Structures Limited (JSL), a power transmission engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company, has received the OSH India Award 2026 in the Excellence in Safety Technology & Innovation, Construction & Infrastructure category.
The award recognises the company's safety initiatives during the execution of the 400 kV Multi-Circuit Line-in-Line-Out (LILO) transmission project connecting Pirana (Torrent Power) and Pirana (Power Grid) at the POWERGRID substation in Ahmedabad.
The project involved challenging site conditions, including work-at-height risks, waterlogging, unstable ground and critical railway and national highway crossings. JSL implemented site-specific safety measures to manage these hazards, particularly during single-span construction across major infrastructure corridors.
The initiatives focused on proactive risk identification, engineering controls and workforce safety throughout project execution. Project Manager M. Mumtaz, supported by Sanjai Singh, Senior Vice President – Projects, and Vandana Kudalkar, Senior Vice President – QHSE, played key roles in implementing these measures.
The award ceremony was held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. The 2026 edition received 111 nominations across categories, with winners selected through a two-round jury evaluation process assessing execution, innovation, strategic alignment and impact.
The OSH India Awards, instituted by Informa Markets in India in 2013, recognise organisations and individuals implementing innovative technologies, processes and systems to improve occupational health and safety.
The recognition highlights JSL's approach to managing construction risks through practical, site-specific safety measures in complex transmission infrastructure projects.

Cement Prices Likely to Rise Rs. 10-15 per Bag from Mid-October

Cement manufacturers in India are likely to raise prices by Rs. 10-15 per bag from mid-October, as they seek to offset persistent increases in power and fuel costs. Emkay Research said its channel checks indicated a high probability of an increase from October 12, supported by the start of the busy construction season and favourable demand-supply conditions.
