MPPGCL Invites EPC Bids For 30 MW Solar Project At SGTPS

Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited has invited domestic competitive bids to select an engineering, procurement and construction contractor for a 30 megawatt (MW) ground-mounted solar photovoltaic project at the Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station in Birsinghpur, Umaria district. The turnkey project is intended to expand the state renewable energy capacity while using available land within the thermal station.

The installation will occupy vacant land in the villages of Pondi, Goraiya and Maliyaguda adjacent to the plant. Site access and grid interface are included in the scope.

The selected contractor will be responsible for detailed design and engineering, procurement, civil and electrical works, construction, testing and commissioning, and for providing operation and maintenance services for five years from the Operational Acceptance Test. The contractor must also provide annual Net Electrical Energy Generation Guarantee (NEEGG) and Performance Ratio (PR) commitments for each of the five years to ensure reliable plant performance.

MPPGCL has stipulated that the 30 MW project be commissioned within 12 months of the contract effective date. Bids will be accepted through a single-stage, two-envelope process on the Madhya Pradesh e-procurement portal, with technical and financial offers submitted online; the deadline is August 14, 2026 at 3:00 PM IST and technical bids will be opened the same day at 4:00 PM.

The tender requires an earnest money deposit of Rs. 10 mn in the form of an unconditional, irrevocable and on-demand bank guarantee or insurance bond, valid for 270 days from bid opening. The successful bidder must furnish a Contract Performance Guarantee equal to 10 per cent of the contract value within 30 days of the Letter of Intent and pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 5,000 plus taxes. A site visit was held on July 14, pre-bid queries were permitted until July 17 at 5:00 PM and a pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 21 in Jabalpur; the selected bidder must accept the Letter of Intent within seven days.
