Premier Energies Launches 620W DCR Solar Modules in India

Premier Energies Limited, one of India’s largest integrated solar manufacturers, has launched its next-generation 620W DCR solar modules using G12R TOPCon technology, now among the most powerful large-format panels available in the country.

The new modules, built with Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) architecture, deliver superior power density, improved temperature coefficients, and enhanced low-light performance. The rectangular G12R N-type cell design enables higher string power and balance-of-system optimisation, making the panels suitable for utility-scale projects as well as commercial and industrial rooftops.

As one of the earliest domestic adopters of this advanced technology, Premier Energies is pushing the boundaries of performance, reliability, and sustainability in India’s solar sector.

“This launch represents a significant milestone in India’s transition to high-efficiency solar,” said Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Premier Energies. “By introducing 620W DCR modules, we are offering a future-ready solution that allows investors and consumers to generate more energy and value from every ray of sunlight. These modules, fully compliant with India’s Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) regulations, also reinforce the Make in India initiative.”

Key Features of the G12R 620W TOPCon Modules:

  • High Output: Maximises energy generation, especially for rooftop and high-capacity ground-mounted projects.
  • TOPCon Efficiency: Advanced cell architecture provides higher conversion efficiency compared with conventional PERC.
  • Rectangular G12R Format: Optimised aspect ratio for improved layout, higher string power, and reduced system costs.
  • Enhanced Durability: Designed to withstand India’s climatic stresses, including heat, humidity, dust, and wind loads.
  • Lower LCOE: Greater power density and robust performance reduce the lifetime cost of energy.

With India accelerating renewable energy capacity expansion, Premier Energies remains committed to innovation, quality, and energy self-reliance. The launch of the G12R 620W module marks the company’s next phase of growth, engineered to deliver higher returns, reduced carbon impact, and long-term value to consumers across the energy ecosystem.

Smart Roads, Smarter India

India’s infrastructure boom is not only about laying more kilometres of highways – it’s about building them smarter, safer and more sustainably. From drones mapping fragile Himalayan slopes to 3D machine-controlled graders reducing human error, technology is steadily reshaping the way projects are planned and executed. Yet, the journey towards digitisation remains complex, demanding not just capital but also coordination, training and vision.Until recently, engineers largely depended on Survey of India toposheets and traditional survey methods like total stations or DGPS to prepare detai..

What Does DCPR 2034 Mean?

The Maharashtra government has eased approval norms for high-rise buildings under DCPR 2034, enabling the municipal commissioner to sanction projects up to 180 m on large plots. This change is expected to streamline approvals, reduce procedural delays and accelerate redevelopment, drawing reactions from developers, planners and industry experts about its implications for Mumbai’s vertical growth.Under the revised DCPR 2034 rules, buildings on plots of 2,000 sq m or more can now be approved up to 180 m by the municipal commissioner, provided structural and geotechnical reports are certified b..
