Rajasthan Clears Key Policies for Health, Energy, and Housing

In a major policy push to establish Rajasthan as a global hub for medical tourism and drive sustainable urban and economic growth, the state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, approved several key proposals. These included policies in healthcare, infrastructure, energy, and education, with a total investment value exceeding Rs 112 billion.
A central highlight was the Heal in Rajasthan Policy–2025, aimed at promoting Medical Value Travel (MVT) by offering global-standard healthcare at affordable rates and integrating Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, and Siddha with modern medicine. The policy offers investor incentives under the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme, Industrial Development Policy, and Tourism Policy.
The Township Policy–2024 mandates area allocation for parks, utilities, and worker housing, promotes low-density layouts, and enforces norms for mixed land use, rainwater harvesting, and mutual land acquisition.
The City Gas Distribution Policy–2025 simplifies land approvals and aims to expand PNG and CNG networks to smaller towns. A dedicated portal will streamline access for investors.
To boost the energy sector, the cabinet approved the formation of three joint venture firms with Central Public Sector Undertakings, unlocking investment of Rs 11.2 billion to advance renewable and conventional energy projects.
In a key institutional move, the cabinet approved an amendment to upgrade Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) into Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), modelled after AIIMS Delhi. It will function as an autonomous centre of excellence in Jaipur.

Further reforms include:
  • Creation of Senior Agriculture Supervisor (Level-10) posts in the Agriculture Department.
  • Adoption of UGC amendments for higher education promotions.
  • Expansion of Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) from 7 to 10 members.
  • Amendments to allow land allocation for large-scale renewable and green hydrogen projects.
Additionally, the cabinet approved a compassionate appointment for a disabled dependent of a former police officer and renamed three educational institutions in honour of prominent figures.
These wide-ranging reforms reflect Rajasthan’s commitment to inclusive development, green energy, efficient governance, and healthcare transformation.
