RAYZON Solar to Commission 5.1 GW TOPCon Cell Plant in December

RAYZON Solar Limited is set to commence operations at its 5.1 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility in December 2026, with initial deliveries expected in the first quarter of 2027. The expansion marks a significant step towards strengthening backward integration and reducing India's dependence on imported solar components.

Founded in 2017 by Chirag Nakrani and Hardik Kothiya, the company currently operates an installed solar module manufacturing capacity of 11.3 GW. The upcoming facility will expand its presence beyond module manufacturing into solar cell production, supporting India's domestic renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem.

Despite shifting its financing strategy from IPO proceeds to debt funding amid market volatility, RAYZON Solar remains committed to its expansion plans. The company is also planning a 5.1 GW ingot casting and wafer slicing facility by 2028 and is evaluating incentives across multiple states to finalise its location.

Chirag Nakrani, Co-Founder, RAYZON Solar, said the new facility would strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities, improve supply chain resilience and enhance competitiveness. He added that the company's future investments would focus on upstream integration and advanced solar technologies.

The company has also completed a 19,800 metric tonnes per annum aluminium extrusion and anodising unit for solar module frames. Additionally, its research and development initiatives have resulted in three patent filings over the past year.

RAYZON Solar is developing tandem-junction technology and nano-coatings for next-generation high-efficiency solar modules, with commercial launches targeted for 2028. These initiatives align with India's Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat programmes, supporting the development of a more integrated domestic solar manufacturing supply chain.
