Shree Cement Sources Over 60 Per Cent Power From Renewables

Shree Cement has reached a significant sustainability milestone by sourcing over 60 per cent of its total power needs from renewable energy. With its renewable capacity now expanded to 582 MW, the company is setting new standards in environmentally friendly cement manufacturing.

A recent highlight is the commissioning of a 60.3 MW solar power plant in Jodhpur, further strengthening Shree Cement’s commitment to clean energy. The company is aggressively investing in solar, wind, and waste heat recovery technologies across its production units as part of a climate-resilient strategy aimed at reducing carbon emissions while enhancing operational stability.

On World Environment Day, MM Rathi, Joint President – Power Management, emphasised that the shift to green energy reflects Shree Cement’s long-term vision to build a sustainable and innovative enterprise.

Renewable solutions are integrated throughout the company’s supply chain, covering raw material sourcing, production, logistics, and packaging. Shree Cement’s focus on data-driven energy efficiency reduces reliance on fossil fuels and bolsters energy security.

These efforts have earned Shree Cement a prestigious CareEdge ESG 1 rating and recognition as an “Industry Mover” in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025.

As one of India’s leading cement producers, with facilities in India and the UAE, Shree Cement is committed to delivering high-quality, eco-conscious building materials while maintaining strong governance and stakeholder trust.
