Solex Energy Secures Rs. 1.94 bn in TOPCon Module Orders

Solex Energy and its wholly owned subsidiary Solex Green Energy have secured two work orders valued at a combined Rs. 1.94 bn for supplying advanced TOPCon solar photovoltaic modules to domestic entities. The orders include applicable taxes and cover bifacial glass-to-glass modules.

Solex Green Energy received the larger order, valued at Rs. 1.81 bn, for supplying TOPCon bifacial glass-to-glass solar photovoltaic modules. The subsidiary is responsible for executing the order under the terms specified by the domestic customer.

Separately, Solex Energy secured a work order valued at Rs. 131.6 mn, including applicable taxes, for the supply of TOPCon bifacial glass-to-glass solar photovoltaic modules. The company did not disclose the names of the entities that placed the two orders or the delivery schedule.

The orders strengthen Solex Energy’s presence in India’s solar module market as demand grows for higher-efficiency photovoltaic technologies. TOPCon, or tunnel oxide passivated contact technology, is used in advanced solar cells and is designed to improve conversion performance compared with conventional module technologies.

Solex Energy manufactures its solar modules at facilities on the outskirts of Surat in Gujarat. The company said its modules are certified to global quality and performance standards and are included in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.

The Approved List of Models and Manufacturers is used by the ministry to identify solar modules and manufacturers eligible for specified government-supported projects and programmes. The company’s inclusion on the list enables it to participate in segments of the domestic renewable energy market where approved equipment is required. The financial value of the two work orders represents a significant addition to the company’s order pipeline, although the announcement did not provide details of their expected contribution to revenue or profit.
