Adhunik Cement in expansion mode

Adhunik Cement, a joint venture between Adhunik Group and MSP Group, has firmed up plans to expand its cement production capacity to 10 mn tonne in the next few years. It intends to set up cement plants in three states namely West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, in addition to Assam.

For its proposed plant in Assam, the company has inked an MoU with the state government and has acquired land at Sonapur in Kamrup district. Besides, it will infuse Rs 250 crore to set up another 1.6 mn tonne plant near Guwahati. The company had invested Rs 700 crore for setting up a cement plant in Jaintia hills of Meghalaya. It has a capacity of producing 1.5 mn tonne of cement annually.
