In Irungalur, close to Manachanallur in Trichy, the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (TNUHDB) has inaugurated a new residential complex for the economically weaker section (EWS) and low-income group (LIG). The TNUHDB's phase II residential complex comprises 240 dwelling units and cost Rs 210 billion to build. The complex has 10 blocks with 24 units each that were created with the urban poor in mind.
