SVR Srinivas, Commissioner, adds a significant milestone to MMRDA as the 22 km Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) connects Package 1 with Package 2 over the sea with the placement of the final steel deck span, known as the 'Golden Joint'. The right-hand side of the bridge, facilitating traffic movement from Sewri in South Mumbai to Chirle in Navi Mumbai, is now complete. This landmark project will drastically reduce travel time between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, adding a massive landmass accessible within 15-20 minutes. The MTHL features innovative elements such as orthotropic decks and automated girder launching systems, showcasing pioneering engineering techniques in India.
