Arunachal's Sekong village gets road under PMGSY

In Arunachal pradesh, Sekong, a remote village under Lada circle in East Kameng district, has finally been connected by road under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY). The 25-km road, leading to Sekong village from Richukrong, a remote circle, was constructed by the Rural Works Department, Seppa with an estimated cost of Rs 19 crore.

The road connectivity to this remote village came as a huge relief for the villagers in terms of transportation and communication. In the meantime, parliamentary secretary for RWD Kumar Waii, who is also the local MLA, on March 2, inspected the road.

The parliamentary secretary, who was accompanied by a team of officers and the chairman of Sajolong Elite Society, also visited the village school. Lauding the department for its speedy work, Waii said, the much-awaited road has finally come to the village and people should welcome it with open arms.

Lada Circle Development Committee Chairman Pacha Rapung, who also accompanied the team, said the road will bring development to the village and improve its economy accordingly.
