Passengers can now pay for bus fares of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) using UPIs. Embracing the long-pending digital reform, the state transportation announced that over 34,000 Android-based ticketing machines have been issued to bus conductors across Maharashtra to accept payment through UPI. Over 55 lakh passengers using the bus services will benefit from the facility. MSRTC has a fleet of over 14,000 buses that make trips across Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat.
