Amol Sinha, General Manager, Terex India, speaks on segments that are driving the demand for crushing and screening equipment. Which segments drive the demand for crushers and screens? How do you compare the demand trends of various crusher types? The production of aggregates and manufactured sand (M-sand) is in upward direction due to investments in infrastructure projects. We expect this to continue in the coming years. This in turn is driving demand for capital equipment like crushers and screeners. There is shift in demand towards modular crushing solutions to augment capacity, customisation to improve plant efficiency. We are also serving the rising demand for mobile crushing and screening equipment, including electric hybrid track crushers. Terex is proud to be offering a wide range of equipment from Modular Autosand® cone crushers for sand manufacturing to Terex washing equipment for sand classification to Mobile crushers and more, thus fulfilling customer needs. Additionally, there is a need for more rugged and smaller plants for use in the hilly regions, and in view of this, we will be soon launching our smaller range of crushing machines such as jaw crushers and impact crushers this year. These machines will be of 60, 70 and 80 tonne/hour capacity, and can be transported on a small truck or trailer. They are being developed to cater to projects in the Northeast and Himalayan regions as well for C&D crushing close to cities. What are the latest products and solutions from the company? Terex products are designed to be highly productive, efficient, reliable and easily transported from one place to another. The fine aggregates produced from Terex machines are of superior quality, helping customers to reduce the overall cost of their infrastructure projects. We have added new products to our portfolio and developed new variants even during these challenging times. We always strive to provide sustainable solutions that aim to reduce our overall carbon footprint and have recently launched machines with fuel-efficient hybrid dual-powered technology under Finlay brand – the J1175 hybrid and C1540 hybrid machines. We are also integrating the latest generation of industry 4.0 standards such as telemetry across our equipment, which will provide our customers with real time information on the performance. We are also excited to begin our development of state-of-the-art large capacity machines, which can further increase our capability to cater for the ever-growing demand of aggregates, while also exporting these to other parts of the world. We are also excited to work with the Indian government and various municipal corporations on waste management projects and we strongly believe we can offer our technical expertise in recycling processes to make a real and lasting impact. Additionally, we are already using stage IV emission compliant engines and prepared to take up any upcoming emission compliance requirements. Terex India are also gearing up to launch “Made in India” pick and carry cranes this year. We will be manufacturing these cranes at our Hosur facility and while initially geared for the Indian market, we are developing our plant to export these cranes internationally as well. How do you look at the long-term market opportunities for crushers and screens considering the government’s National Infrastructure Pipeline plan and the policy reforms in mining? Although the market dynamics keep changing, the demand for quality aggregates and M-sand has grown multi-fold. The key driver is Government’s push for express highways through new alignments in the hinterlands. We are very bullish on the long-term demand for crushers and screeners. The customers are looking for high-capacity customised solution and Terex offers a wide range of crushing, screening, washing and conveying equipment. Recently, we have started seeing an increased demand for mobile crushers and electric hybrid track crushers from mining sector, especially for iron ore and coal. We therefore see a positive outcome of the mining policy, which is driving the demand for these crushers.

Creativity is for Humans, Productivity is for Robots!

On most construction sites, the rhythm of progress is measured by the clang of steel, the hum of machinery and the sweat of thousands. But increasingly, new sounds are entering the mix: the quiet efficiency of algorithms, the hum of drones overhead, and the precision of robotic arms at work. Behind the concrete and cables, an invisible force is taking hold: data. It is turning blueprints into living simulations, managing fleets of machines, and helping engineers make decisions before a single brick is laid. This is not the construction of tomorrow; it is the architecture of today – built on ..
