DDA to get final approval for Delhi Master Plan 2041 soon

After completing the consultation process for the Masterplan for Delhi (MPD) 2041, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will present the document to its board for approval before forwarding it to the Centre for approval and official noti.

The DDA advisory committee, led by Anil Baijal, lieutenant governor, examined the draft MPD 2041, which was finalised after taking into account public comments and recommendations.

The council includes Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha elected MPs, municipal councillors, personnel from the national and Delhi governments, and professionals in the field of urban development and planning.

On April 13, 2021, the draft MPD 2041 was approved by the authority and placed in the public domain on June 9, 2021.

It was followed by comprehensive consultations with many stakeholders and citizens.

According to the officials, the majority of the members' valuable suggestions were already included in the plan.

They said that the new ideas were taken notice of and would be properly integrated into the draft MPD 2041.

The LG tweeted that the suggestions, which were largely related to the environment, economy, shelter and social infrastructure, mobility and physical infrastructure, spatial development strategies, and so on, were deliberated upon in detail by the advisory council.

They said that the DDA vice-chairman was to consider the council members' suggestions for inclusion in the MPD and present them to the authority as soon as possible.

DDA officials told the media that 14 meetings of the Board of Enquiry and Hearing were held in October and November 2021.

The draft was modified as Public, civil societies, NGOs, residents welfare associations, market associations, federations, professional bodies, government agencies and political members submitted their suggestions.
