Huda plans 20 housing society on illegal colony land in MDC

On 21.75 acres of land in Sector 5's Mansa Devi Complex (MDC), the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) intends to replace the illegal Gandhi Colony with 20 group housing societies. The area has been encroached upon by almost 1,000 shanties.

According to the municipal corporation and the Huda, 100 shanties have already been taken down. According to officials, letters have been delivered to illegal inhabitants ordering them to vacate their huts within a certain amount of time, failing which, legal action will be taken.

Ajit Balaii Joshi, the chief administrator of Huda, inspected the location and gave the project his approval. The Huda has submitted its proposal for state permission.

The Huda also intends to build a park on 4.31 acres at the location, a primary school on 0.30 acres, a nursery school on 0.22 acres, and reserve 2 acres for the development of a hospital. On 1.37 acres of land, a sewage treatment plant is proposed.
