Indore Municipal Corp razes structures in two illegal colonies

On Wednesday, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), continuing its crackdown against encroachments, razed structures being formed in two illegal colonies.

As per the senior IMC authorities, one Chetan Bhumiya was allegedly building an unauthorised colony named Lunia compound in about four acres of land located on AB Road under Lasudia police station. The land was allocated for transport business, but the owner was allegedly taking other use of the property by developing an illegal colony on the spot without taking needed approvals from Town & Country Planning (T&CP) and IMC.

It was after IMC got a complaint against the landowner for allegedly creating 25-30 plots on the spot along with developing basic facilities comprising roads, the civic body authorities on Wednesday roped in earthmoving machines and razed all the unauthorised structures. According to IMC Zone-8 officer Gajal Khanna, required steps will be taken against Bhumiya for developing the illegal colony.
