SiMa.ai, Mistral partner on autonomous drone AI

SiMa.ai and Mistral Solutions, a subsidiary of AXISCADES, have recently announced a strategic partnership to accelerate autonomous intelligence in the drone ecosystem. The companies are showcasing their joint reference design at Drone International Expo in New Delhi, being held from June 24-26, 2026.

The reference design combines Mistral’s embedded systems and drone product engineering capabilities with SiMa.ai’s Physical AI platform. It is designed to help drone original equipment manufacturers and system integrators bring autonomous, AI-powered drones to market faster through a validated development foundation.

At the event, the companies are showcasing SiMa.ai’s Palette Neat agentic environment, co-optimised with its Modalix MLSoC. The platform forms the base for an intelligent multi-sensor drone reference design aimed at supporting advanced autonomy requirements.

The industrial-grade design is optimised for size, weight and power constraints to improve efficiency and support extended flight times for mission-critical edge deployments. It addresses sensor fusion, onboard flight control, GPS-denied navigation, obstacle detection and agentic mission planning, while enabling on-device AI inference without cloud dependency.

The partnership is expected to support drone applications across defence, industrial, commercial and robotics sectors by combining AI compute, embedded engineering and drone system design expertise.

"Join industry leaders at RAHSTA Expo, India's premier platform for roads, highways and traffic infrastructure. Register now to explore innovations, network with experts and shape the future of mobility."
