India to host renewable energy summit in November

The Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo (BRE Summit & Expo) 2026 will be held from 2 to 5 November 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, bringing together three major international clean energy events under one platform.

Announcing the event, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi said the summit will be held alongside the 9th Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen. He added that the Prime Minister has agreed to inaugurate the event.

The summit is expected to bring together renewable energy developers, technology providers, equipment manufacturers, battery storage companies, green hydrogen firms, financial institutions, investors and international organisations. Invitations have been extended to 34 countries for the summit, while the ISA has invited 128 countries for its assembly.

Joshi said India is set to cross 300 GW of installed non-fossil fuel power capacity and added that the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is expected to reach 5 million beneficiary households in the coming weeks.

During the curtain raiser, the minister unveiled the summit's official logo, 'URJHA Chakra', and launched its digital portal and mobile application.

Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, highlighted the role of states in advancing renewable energy through solar, hydropower, biomass and other clean energy technologies. Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, said the next phase of India's energy transition will focus on hybrid renewable energy projects, battery energy storage systems, floating solar, agrivoltaics and the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
