Essar Green Targets USD 1 Billion Revenue Through Green Trucks

Essar Green Mobility, the clean mobility arm of the Essar Group, expects a turnover of around USD 1 billion (approximately Rs 8.85 billion) within the next three years as it expands its green trucking operations. The company provides low-emission logistics solutions and operates a fleet of heavy commercial vehicles powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and electricity.

B C Tripathi, Board Member of Essar Green Mobility, said, “We are focusing on decarbonising heavy-duty long-haul trucks, which account for 40–45 per cent of India’s crude oil consumption. Diesel from this oil primarily transports steel, cement, iron ore, and other goods.”

The firm plans to build a 10,000-truck platform over three years, which could evolve into a USD 1 billion business, depending on rollout pace. This initiative is aligned with India’s net-zero targets, addressing a critical segment whose decarbonisation is essential for meaningful reductions in overall transport emissions.
