ADIO Backs Motherson Manufacturing Hub In Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has announced support for Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (Motherson) to develop a manufacturing hub in Abu Dhabi, strengthening the emirate as a global centre for advanced manufacturing and automotive supply chains. The partnership highlights ADIO's continued focus on enabling advanced manufacturing and reinforcing high-value supply chains across priority industrial sectors. It is intended to bolster Abu Dhabi's competitiveness as a regional and global centre for manufacturing and export.

The collaboration supports development of a large-scale integrated manufacturing facility to produce a range of automotive components for Motherson's global operations and third-party original equipment manufacturer customers. The project is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs across technical, engineering, manufacturing and corporate functions, support Emiratisation and enable greater participation of national talent. It is also expected to contribute to knowledge transfer and capability building in advanced industrial sectors.

Located within Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), the site is being developed in phases on a single approximately 87,652 square metre land plot, with construction already underway. Once fully operational the facility will serve as a regional manufacturing and export base, leveraging Abu Dhabi's logistics infrastructure and connectivity through AD Ports Group to provide efficient access to regional and global markets. The site aims to strengthen integration across supply chains and improve export logistics.

The arrangement reflects Abu Dhabi's strategy of enabling high-value industrial investment through a coordinated ecosystem that integrates infrastructure, connectivity and business support. The project is expected to contribute to expanding non-oil exports, strengthening local supply chains and advancing industrial capabilities. It is intended to reinforce Abu Dhabi's position as a competitive global manufacturing and export hub.
