Aheesa, Zigma Partner to Scale Indigenous VIHAAN-I Chip

Aheesa Digital Innovations has partnered with The Zigma Technologies India (P) to take its indigenous networking chip, VIHAAN-I, to market across India. Under the agreement, Zigma will serve as the distribution partner for the semiconductor product.

The partnership combines Aheesa’s chip design capabilities with Zigma’s experience in technology infrastructure, software and e-governance. Zigma has worked with OEMs, ODMs and government departments across India for nearly three decades.

VIHAAN-I achieved tape-out in January 2026 and first-pass silicon success in August 2026. The chip is aimed at reducing dependence on imported networking silicon and supporting locally manufactured broadband devices. Commercial production is targeted for 2027.

Sridharan Mani, Founder and CEO, Aheesa Digital Innovations, said the partnership supports the company’s ambition to see Indian-designed chips serving domestic and global markets while strengthening the country’s semiconductor capabilities.

Raja Kathiravan, Managing Director, The Zigma Technologies India (P) Limited, said indigenous silicon represents the next layer of India’s digital infrastructure and that VIHAAN-I can be integrated into systems supporting the country’s broadband and digital networks.

Aheesa’s semiconductor and networking portfolio spans telecom, broadband, cybersecurity and edge computing. The partnership comes amid the expansion of India’s semiconductor ecosystem under Semicon 2.0, a Rs 1,275 billion programme approved in July 2026 to strengthen chip design, manufacturing, packaging, materials and the wider semiconductor supply chain.
