Ambala Gets Rs 3.5 Billion Boost for Water, Roads, and Sports

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday unveiled a host of development projects in Ambala, pledging over Rs 3.5 billion to strengthen local infrastructure and civic amenities.
Speaking at the state-level Teej celebration in Ambala City, the Chief Minister announced Rs 1.45 billion for the expansion of the city’s water distribution network and Rs 400 million for a 9 MLD water treatment plant in Sector 24. An additional Rs 600 million was earmarked for repairing damaged stretches along both sides of the Satluj Yamuna Link (SYL) canal.
Saini also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for nine projects totalling Rs 730 million—four completed works worth Rs 264.9 million and five new initiatives worth Rs 463.4 million.
A synthetic track will be built at the sports stadium in Sector 10, while Rs 350 million has been sanctioned to concrete key sections of the Model Town drain, covering localities such as Mathura Nagri, Police Line, Vikas Vihar, and Sectors 9 and 10.
To boost rural infrastructure, Rs 50 million has been allocated for development works in villages across the Ambala constituency.
At another event, CM Saini said Haryana would establish 10 Integrated Multi-Modal Townships (IMTs) across the state to attract investment and generate employment. One of these IMTs is planned for Ambala, creating new job opportunities for local youth.
The announcements were made in the presence of senior ministers including Anil Vij, Shruti Choudhry, and BJP State President Mohan Lal Badoli.
