Bridgestone India's third Mobility Impact Awards

Bridgestone India has unveiled the winners of its 3rd Mobility Social Impact Awards, a program designed to recognise and honour innovative initiatives that positively influence India's mobility sector. The awards ceremony took place in Pune, gathering industry leaders, innovators, and change-makers in the social impact space. The winners received a total prize of Rs 3 million distributed across three categories.

These accolades span three critical areas: mobility solutions empowering vulnerable social groups and communities, efforts in road safety, and initiatives aimed at enhancing access to resources and opportunities.

This year's award recipients represent a diverse range of projects and initiatives that have made substantial contributions to India's mobility ecosystem. Here are the winners of the 3rd Mobility Social Impact Awards:

1. Nirman Bahuuddeshiya Vikas Sanstha, Pune, Maharashtra received the award for their work in road safety, creating awareness among various groups in Pune, including children, driver communities, police, and traffic personnel.

2. Vikasonmukh Sansthan, Jaipur, Rajasthan was honoured in the category of increasing access to resources for their remarkable efforts in livelihood generation through farm mechanisation in Jaipur, Rajasthan, contributing significantly to improving agricultural practices and livelihoods.

3. Navajeevan Organisation, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh emerged as the winner in the category of 'Mobility for Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups' for their work in promoting Safai Karamcharis, Sanitation Workers, and waste pickers as entrepreneurs.

4. The United Way of Chennai, Tamil Nadu secured the first runner-up position for their project 'Nalam,' which focuses on providing mobile ambulance support for cancer screening.

5. Mowo Social Initiatives Foundation's Women in Mobility program for Women in Hyderabad, Telangana, and Ahmedabad-based Janvikas Trust's Driverben- 'Ek Nayi Pehchan' both received joint runner-up recognition in the category of "Mobility for Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups." These initiatives aim to empower women through mobility and skill development.

6. Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust, Mumbai, Maharashtra received an award on the jury?s special recommendation for their exceptional efforts in providing access to high-quality prosthetic aids, enhancing individuals' mobility and quality of life.

Stefano Sanchini, MD of Bridgestone India, emphasised the importance of sustainability and collaboration among stakeholders to achieve meaningful impact. A distinguished jury, comprising professionals from various fields, evaluated and recognised the impactful projects in the social impact space.

The event featured Chief Guest Biren Bhuta, a recipient of the Gurukul Fellowship from the Foundation for Universal Responsibility of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, along with dignitaries from the corporate sector, NGOs, government, and local administration.
