Cavotec inaugurates new production facility in Chennai

Cavotec, a leading cleantech company, is pleased to announce the inauguration of its new production facility in Chennai. This strategic expansion is aimed at serving both the fast growing domestic market in India and the extensive global market.

The new facility will cater to the domestic Indian market with an array of products, including various types of reels designed for both industrial and ports & maritime customers. Additionally, the new site will enhance the production capacity for shore power solutions, reflecting Cavotec's commitment to innovation and sustainability in maritime operations. The new facility will also function as a supply chain hub supporting our operations across the globe.

The inauguration ceremony, held on July 3, 2024, was a significant event attended by customers and partners as well as local and international representatives from Cavotec. The event featured a comprehensive tour of the new facility, providing an opportunity for the attendees to witness firsthand the production and processes in place.

David Pagels, Cavotec's CEO stated:"This new production facility marks an important milestone for Cavotec as we strengthen our presence in the region. The facility will enable us to serve the large and growing market in India, enhancing our ability to deliver innovative and high-quality solutions to our customers locally and globally."

Cavotec made the strategic decision in the spring of 2023 to establish itself in India with production. The new facility is scalable and did not require any major investment because the establishment took place in existing premises.
