DGCA Begins Special Audit to Enhance Aviation Safety Standards

In addition to the core operators, the audit will cover technology providers, emergency response systems, supply chain networks, and regulatory oversight bodies to ensure end-to-end safety and compliance.

According to a senior aviation official, DGCA teams, along with airport security personnel, have already completed audits at Mumbai and Delhi airports, and will next cover Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and other major airports. The findings of these audits remain confidential.

All entities reviewed during the audit are required to submit a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) to the DGCA within 15 days. Officials indicated that non-compliance with audit findings or failure to implement the CAP could result in consequences such as financial penalties or licence revocation.

The DGCA’s heightened focus on comprehensive safety evaluation reflects its efforts to raise standards in India’s rapidly expanding aviation sector.
