Eicher Launches Pro X Diesel Range for Last-Mile Logistics

Eicher Trucks and Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), has launched the Eicher Pro X Diesel, expanding its next-generation portfolio in the 2–3.5T small commercial vehicle (SCV) segment. Following the debut of the Eicher Pro X EV at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year, the new diesel variant combines Eicher’s expertise in fuel efficiency, performance, and application-specific design, catering to customers and regions reliant on diesel-powered solutions.

Built through extensive customer collaboration, the new Pro X Diesel range is positioned as an “Expert” solution for small businesses, fleet operators and first-time buyers, delivering best-in-class fuel efficiency, superior uptime, and simplified ownership.

The vehicle is powered by the newly developed E449 “X-Factor” diesel engine, engineered for strong drivability and performance across varied terrains. With the segment’s largest cargo deck (10 ft 8 in) and the longest service interval of 30,000 km, the Pro X Diesel is designed to carry more per trip, lower operating costs and boost customer profitability.

Commenting on the launch, Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO, VE Commercial Vehicles, said, “With the Eicher Pro X Diesel, we take another significant step in transforming last-mile logistics. Now available in both electric and diesel options, the Pro X range reflects our commitment to supporting customers as they reimagine logistics in India’s Amrit Kaal. Co-created with customers, it blends Eicher’s strengths in fuel efficiency, reliability and uptime with the operational flexibility offered by diesel powertrains. This launch reinforces our presence in the fast-evolving SCV segment and mirrors our vision of enabling smart, sustainable and efficient logistics solutions for India.”

Tested across diverse conditions nationwide, the Pro X Diesel is suitable for a wide range of applications—from farm-to-market links and kirana deliveries to FMCG, e-commerce, fruits and vegetables, and regional logistics—while placing driver comfort at the core of its design.

Speaking about the development, S S Gill, Chief Commercial Officer, VE Commercial Vehicles, said, “The Eicher Pro X Diesel is a state-of-the-art product for the large SCV category. It offers segment-leading comfort and safety with a crash-tested metallic cabin, ergonomic D+2 seating, a driver state monitoring system (DSMS) and daytime running lamps (DRL). With intelligent connectivity via the My Eicher app, predictive diagnostics, remote immobilizer, and real-time support from our 24x7 Uptime Center, operators gain enhanced control, security and peace of mind.”

Manufactured at Eicher’s Industry 4.0-enabled Bhopal facility and assembled on an all-woman line, the new Pro X Diesel range reinforces the company’s commitment to Make in India and to empowering the workforce behind the country’s logistics transformation.
