Flender Unveils N-ZAPEX Gear Couplings for Cost-Effective Operation

Flender has unveiled its new N-ZAPEX gear couplings, setting a new industry standard for drive applications in harsh conditions, such as those found in steel, cement, mining, and oil & gas industries. Designed to deliver economic benefits over the entire lifecycle, the N-ZAPEX series offers the highest torque density and misalignment capacities on the market.

The N-ZAPEX is available in two versions, XN and XW, each tailored to meet different customer requirements. The XN variant focuses on standardisation, reduced complexity, and cost-effectiveness for smaller sizes, featuring reusable components, excellent misalignment capacities, and easy installation.

The XW version is intended for larger sizes, offering extreme power density, durability, and serviceability. It features the patented Hollow-O-Ring sealing concept, allowing for quick replacement, high misalignment capacity, and minimal maintenance. With up to 10 million Nm of torque, the XW version is ideal for the most demanding industrial challenges.

The N-ZAPEX series improves misalignment compensation by 60% in the XN version and 30% in the XW version compared to previous models. Both versions offer compact designs and low weight, simplifying installation and maintenance while reducing spare parts complexity.

Dr. Dennis Geers, President of Couplings at Flender, stated, “With the new N-ZAPEX gear coupling, we are not only setting new benchmarks but also redefining the industry standard. Its compact design, innovative sealing concept, and standardisation provide our customers with long-term economic benefits.”

The N-ZAPEX’s standardisation and modular system components contribute to cost-effective operation (CAPEX) by enabling smaller, more powerful couplings, reducing installation times, and optimising lifecycle costs. Its serviceability (OPEX) is enhanced by the compact design and innovative sealing, minimising downtime and simplifying spare parts management. Flender’s N-ZAPEX underscores its commitment to providing technically advanced, economically optimised coupling solutions.
