Government to provide Rs 1.2 billion incentive under PLI scheme

In September 2021, the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for drones and drone components had been notified. In July 2022, a preliminary list of 23 PLI grantees was announced. There are 12 drone manufacturers and 11 drone component manufacturers among them. For Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and startups, the eligibility criteria is specified as Rs. 20 million in annual sales revenue for drone manufacturers and Rs. 5 million in annual sales revenue for drone component makers. Non-MSME eligibility criteria comprises of Rs. 40 million in annual sales income for drone manufacturers and Rs. 10 million in annual sales revenue for drone component makers. A minimum value addition of 40 per cent of net sales for all is established.
