GP Petroleums JV Chosen As IOCL Operating Partner For Pipavav Bitumen Cell

GP Petroleums Ltd said its joint venture, Amron Oil Resources Pvt Ltd, has been selected by Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) as the operating partner for IOCL's bitumen cell at Pipavav in Gujarat. Amron Oil Resources is a 50:50 joint venture between GP Petroleums and West Coast Oils LLP and will operate the bitumen cell under the agreement. The move marks an operational tie up between GP Petroleums and IOCL in the speciality bitumen sector.

Amron Oil Resources manufactures speciality bitumen products used in road construction, including bitumen emulsions, polymer modified bitumen (PMB) and crumb rubber modified bitumen (CRMB). These product lines are tailored for diverse infrastructure applications and are intended to meet quality standards for pavement projects. The company will leverage technical expertise from both partners to manage production and quality control at the Pipavav facility.

Bulk bitumen dispatches from the Pipavav facility commenced on four June 2026, following the inauguration that formed part of IOCL's SPRINT 2026 Mission Excellence initiative. The facility is strategically located close to Pipavav port and offers handling capacity for bulk shipments to support regional projects. The start of dispatches indicates operational readiness and the capacity to supply larger volumes to contractors and distributors.

IOCL and GP Petroleums expect the Pipavav bitumen cell to improve the supply of speciality bitumen products across Gujarat and neighbouring regions and to enhance logistics efficiency for infrastructure projects due to proximity to the port. The selection of Amron Oil Resources as the operating partner expands GP Petroleums' presence in the speciality bitumen segment and strengthens its participation in India's road and transport infrastructure sector. The partnership is positioned to support upcoming infrastructure demand.
