Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated six development works worth Rs. 2.8 bn and laid foundation stones for six others valued at Rs. 3.04 bn in Ahmedabad on 24 September 2026. The combined value of the projects was Rs. 5.84 bn. The programme was organised under the Seva, Sankalp and Samarpan Abhiyan, marking 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service and governance. The event at Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Auditorium also included draws for newly constructed homes and the distribution of appointment letters to more than 450 Assistant Technical Supervisors and around 50 Junior Clerks. Patel congratulated the newly appointed employees and said citizen welfare remained central to the Prime Minister’s development-oriented governance. He also referred to Modi’s scheduled completion of 25 years of public service on 7 October. Patel highlighted the transformation of Kankaria Lake and the Sabarmati Riverfront into major public landmarks during Modi’s tenure as Gujarat chief minister. He also cited the rehabilitation of slum residents through permanent housing, the Swachhta Abhiyan and the Ayushman scheme as examples of initiatives focused on public welfare and improved living conditions. The chief minister said Gujarat was contributing to the vision of a developed India through a developed Gujarat. He referred to a NITI Aayog report that placed the state among India’s leading states in financial management and said the state government was working to ensure timely appointments to key positions across departments. He asked the new employees to work with integrity, dedication and a commitment to quality, while maintaining cleanliness and using technology effectively. Patel said the appointments represented the highest number distributed in a single day in the history of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. Mayor Hitesh Barot described the occasion as significant for the civic body and said Ahmedabad had recorded substantial development under the chief minister’s leadership. The event was attended by ministers, MPs, MLAs, civic officials, office-bearers, employees and their families.
