High-Speed Internet for All Blocks

The Government of India is accelerating high-speed internet expansion in rural and remote areas under Digital Bharat Nidhi through initiatives like the 4G saturation project and BharatNet.

4G Mobile Expansion: As of December 2024, 6,25,853 villages have mobile connectivity, including 6,18,968 villages with 4G services.

BharatNet Implementation: By February 2025, 2,14,323 Gram Panchayats (GPs) have been connected with broadband, enabling Wi-Fi hotspots, Fibre to the Home (FTTH), and on-demand connectivity.

The initiative aims to provide universal digital access and bridge the connectivity gap in underserved areas, ensuring rural citizens benefit from e-governance, online education, telemedicine, and digital financial services.
