The initiative follows the Ministry order dated 31 December 2025 and aligns with the Government of India vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 to foster a robust, transparent and competitive business ecosystem.

The Advisory Group has been tasked to provide strategic guidance on simplifying corporate compliance and rationalising the e forms prescribed under the Companies Act 2013 while strengthening digital governance frameworks. Its mandate covers examining global best practices, recommending measures to enhance compliance efficiency and reducing regulatory burden on businesses. It will facilitate stakeholder consultations for participatory policymaking and undertake impact assessments to evaluate improvements in compliance efficiency and ease of doing business. Draft amendments to the Companies Act, related rules and allied matters may be suggested to support a modern technology driven regulatory framework.

The School of Business Environment, IICA will serve as the secretariat and support research, consultations and coordination. IICA has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to undertake a comprehensive study titled Re envisioning Ease of Doing Business for Viksit Bharat 2047 that is expected to generate evidence based recommendations to support policy innovation and administrative reforms.
