India poised to adopt cleaner solutions bypassing outdated practices

The US Green Building Council (USGBC) announced that LEED version 5, slated for release in about two weeks, aimed to tackle construction phase carbon emissions and would establish strict criteria for what constituted an offset for specific activities.

Additionally, USGBC, along with the Green Building Council of Australia and the British research establishment, revealed plans to provide frameworks for sustainable financing in both bond and loan markets, with the study set to be released in June 2024.

USGB plan to reduce carbon emissions in the construction industry, USGBC had been operational for 30 years with a mission to advance sustainability in the building industry, with decarbonisation being a significant aspect. He emphasized the importance of seizing every opportunity within the industry, encompassing both existing and new buildings globally, and ensuring the accessibility and applicability of solutions across all markets.
