IndiGo Appoints Aloke Singh As Chief Strategy Officer

InterGlobe Aviation Limited (IndiGo) said that its board approved the appointment of Aloke Singh as Chief Strategy Officer, effective six April 2026, following a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee at a meeting on March 23, 2026. The company indicated that Singh will initially report to the managing director, Rahul Bhatia, and will transition to reporting to the incoming chief executive when that person assumes office. The board meeting commenced at 1825 hours IST and concluded at 1900 hours IST.

In his role, Singh will lead the company's long-term strategic planning function and drive enterprise-wide transformation initiatives aimed at accelerating growth, enhancing operational efficiency and strengthening competitive positioning in a rapidly evolving global aviation landscape. He will work with the leadership team on cross-functional priorities intended to improve organisational agility, elevate customer experience and deliver sustainable shareholder value.

Singh brings over three decades of aviation industry experience spanning strategy, planning, operations and commercial functions, and has led complex operational and cultural transformations and large-scale expansion programmes. He most recently served as managing director and chief executive officer of Air India Express, where he was credited with operational improvements and rapid growth, and he has previously held senior leadership roles at Air India and Oman Air.

IndiGo described itself as India's preferred carrier and one of the fastest growing in the world, operating a fleet of more than 400 aircraft and around 2,200 daily flights connecting over 95 domestic and 40 international destinations. The airline said it welcomed 124 mn customers in calendar year 2025, and noted recognition at industry awards for customer service and punctuality.
