Jammu and Kashmir boosts sports infrastructure

Jammu and Kashmir government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure across the Union Territory, with focus on upgrading facilities and expanding access for athletes and youth.

Speaking on the initiative, Satish Sharma said sustained investment is being made to improve stadiums, training centres and grassroots sporting amenities across urban and rural areas. The effort aims to create better opportunities for talent development and competitive participation.

The government stated that stronger sports infrastructure will support youth engagement, wellness and regional development. The ongoing push reflects a broader strategy to build modern sporting ecosystems across Jammu and Kashmir.

The Maharashtra government has approved the expansion of Mumbai Metro Line 5 along with a new integrated corridor, Metro Line 5A, forming a combined 34.2-km metro network across the Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan-Ulhasnagar belt.
