Lt Gen DS Rana Appointed as Garhwal Rifles Colonel

Lt Gen Dinesh Singh Rana, Commander-in-Chief of Andaman and Nicobar Command, has been appointed as the 23rd Colonel of the Regiment of the Garhwal Rifles. The baton was ceremonially passed to him by outgoing Colonel, Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani, during a grand ceremony held at Lansdowne, Uttarakhand. 

The event paid tribute to the regiment’s historic legacy, with Lt Gen Rana receiving a Guard of Honour and paying homage at the War Memorial. He expressed a strong commitment to uphold the discipline, ethos, and valour for which the Garhwal Rifles is renowned. The regiment, which includes 27 battalions and a Scouts Battalion, has a long-standing tradition of courage and service to the nation.
