Maxposure Wins Global Patent for Smart IFE Safety System

Maxposure Limited has announced the publication of its international patent (WO 2026/053187 A1) under the Patent Cooperation Treaty for an automated system that pauses and resumes wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE) during public address announcements.
The patented technology uses a sensor-based mechanism to detect thermal fluctuations linked to human speech during onboard announcements. Once detected, the system automatically pauses entertainment content and resumes playback after the announcement ends, without wired integration to the aircraft PA system or manual crew intervention.
The development is designed to support aviation safety norms, where public announcements remain a key channel for safety instructions, operational updates and emergency communication. The system aims to improve audibility of announcements while reducing dependence on manual intervention in wireless IFE environments.
The technology has been developed under AeroHub, Maxposure’s in-flight entertainment and connectivity platform. AeroHub includes battery-powered systems, while AeroHubPRO is an aircraft-powered platform designed for rapid deployment without requiring Supplemental Type Certificate installation.
The automated functionality is enabled through SkyView by AeroHub, the company’s onboard digital interface for content delivery and passenger engagement.
Sameer Sirdeshmukh, Vice President, AeroHub, said the innovation is intended to create a seamless balance between passenger entertainment, safety communication and operational efficiency.
The company clarified that the patent is a technological concept and not regulatory approval. Any commercial deployment would require certification and compliance with aviation safety, airworthiness and electronic system standards.
