NeVA Aims to Digitise State/UT Legislatures and Enhance Transparency

The National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) is a digital initiative aimed at making the legislative proceedings of all State and Union Territory Legislatures entirely paperless. It enhances transparency by offering online access to live-streamed sessions, records of debates, legislative proceedings, and essential legislative documents.

The platform enables users to access a comprehensive range of records and documents related to key parliamentary and legislative functions for legislatures that have adopted the system. These include the List of Business, Questions and their Replies, Notices, Debates, Proceedings, Bills, Committee Reports, and Papers Laid.

To ensure greater accessibility and linguistic inclusivity, the NeVA Public Portal is available in 23 languages.

As part of capacity-building initiatives, training programs and workshops are conducted to familiarise stakeholders, including legislators, legislative staff, and government department officials, with the application. Additionally, NeVA Sewa Kendras (NSKs) have been established under the project as e-Learning and e-Facilitation Centres to support training and capacity development.

This initiative is part of the broader effort to modernize legislative processes and promote efficiency through digital transformation.
