NIBE Announces Successful Test Firing Of SURYASTRA Launcher

NIBE Limited (NIBE) has announced the successful test firing of its SURYASTRA Universal Rocket Launcher system following trials at ITR, Chandipur, Odisha on 18 and 19 May 2026. The company noted that it had received a purchase order in January 2026 under the Emergency Procurement of the Indian Army for the supply of the launcher and rockets with 150 km and 300 km ranges. The company stated the tests formed part of the contracted delivery schedule.

The rockets achieved exceptional precision across all ranges, with a circular error probable of one point five metres at the 150 km range and two metres at the 300 km range. These trial results validated SURYASTRA's long range precision strike capability and demonstrated consistency in guidance and control performance across extended flight envelopes.
