PM Modi Launches Rs 580 Bn Infra Drive in Andhra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 580 Bn in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. The initiatives span highways, railways, capital infrastructure, flood mitigation, and defence, with a focus on improving logistics, connectivity, and regional development.

Seven National Highway projects were launched, including widening and construction of roads over bridges and subways. These aim to enhance connectivity to key destinations like Tirupati, Srikalahasti, Malakonda, and Udayagiri Fort. Six additional highway projects and a railways project were also announced, featuring elevated corridors and road-over-rail structures to reduce congestion.

Rail upgrades include the doubling of the Bugganapalle Cement Nagar–Panyam line and construction of a third rail line between New West Block Hut Cabin and Vijayawada, improving access between Rayalaseema and Amaravati.

Capital works worth over Rs 112.4 Bn include new administrative buildings and homes for over 5,200 families. Additionally, flood mitigation and trunk infrastructure valued at Rs 174 Bn will create a 320 km world-class transport network.

PM Modi also announced a Rs 14.6 Bn Missile Test Range at Nagayalanka and the PM Ekta Mall in Visakhapatnam to promote local artisans and indigenous products.
