Prime Minister To Inaugurate Seva Teerth And Kartavya Bhavan One And Two

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the name of the building complex Seva Teerth on 13 February 2026 at around one thirty PM and will formally inaugurate Seva Teerth and Kartavya Bhavan One and Two later the same day, before addressing a public programme at around six PM. The inauguration marks a transformative milestone in India's administrative governance architecture and reflects the Prime Minister's commitment to building a modern, efficient, accessible and citizen-centric governance ecosystem. The events were announced by the Press Information Bureau in a release.

For decades several key government offices and ministries operated from fragmented and ageing infrastructure across multiple locations in the Central Vista area, generating operational inefficiencies, coordination challenges and escalating maintenance costs. The new complexes consolidate administrative functions within modern future-ready facilities designed to improve coordination and reduce overheads. The consolidation is intended to create better working environments and more effective citizen engagement.

Seva Teerth houses the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) and the Cabinet Secretariat (CS), all of which were previously located across different sites. Kartavya Bhavan One and Two accommodate several key ministries including the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Education among others. Both complexes feature digitally integrated offices, structured public interface zones and centralised reception facilities to foster collaboration and seamless governance. These arrangements are expected to enhance employee well-being and improve citizen services.

The buildings have been designed in accordance with four-star GRIHA standards and incorporate renewable energy systems, water conservation measures and waste management solutions to reduce environmental impact and improve operational efficiency. They also include comprehensive safety and security frameworks such as smart access control systems, surveillance networks and advanced emergency response infrastructure to ensure a secure and accessible environment for officials and visitors. The integrated design aims to lower lifecycle costs while supporting resilient administrative functions. Officials described the inauguration as a step towards a streamlined governance architecture.
