Patel Engineering Wins Renuka Ji Dam Package One Contract

Patel Engineering Limited has received a Letter of Award from Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited for the Renuka Ji Dam Project, Package one, valued at Rs 9,100.8 million (mn) including GST. The company had earlier been declared the lowest bidder for the contract and the award marks formal commencement of the engagement. The contract was notified to stock exchanges in the ordinary course of business and the company noted that the information on the lowest bidder had been intimated on February 23, 2026 and did not constitute unpublished price sensitive information.

The project is located at Village Dadahu in Tehsil Renuka, District Sirmaur in Himachal Pradesh and is scheduled for completion within 30 months. Under the package, the contractor will construct three major diversion tunnels each with a diameter of nine point five metres and lengths between 1,300 and 1,600 metres. The scope also covers the construction of inlet and outlet structures associated with these tunnels. The approach roads are expected to support construction logistics and future operational access.

Works further include the development of approximately six kilometres of approach and access roads and the installation of advanced hydro-mechanical systems to regulate water flow. The project will incorporate comprehensive instrumentation and monitoring systems to ensure long-term operational reliability and safety. The company indicated that execution will follow established standards for quality and safety. The company said it will employ established project management processes and contractor oversight to meet schedule and safety objectives.

Patel Engineering described the award as a significant milestone that reflects client confidence in its ability to deliver complex infrastructure projects. The firm, established in 1949, has a 76-year track record across hydropower, tunnelling and irrigation sectors and has completed more than 85 dams, 40 hydroelectric projects and over 300 kilometres of tunnelling.
