Vedanta Healthcare Initiatives Reach 40 Lakh Lives

Vedanta Group has said its healthcare initiatives reached nearly 40 lakh beneficiaries in FY26, delivering preventive, primary and specialised healthcare services across rural, tribal and underserved communities in India.

On National Doctors’ Day, the Group recognised doctors, nurses and frontline healthcare professionals supporting its healthcare programmes across operational geographies. The initiatives cover preventive care, primary healthcare, specialised treatment, maternal and child health, mobile health vans, telemedicine and community hospitals.

BALCO Medical Centre, a unit of Vedanta Medical Research Foundation, has emerged as a major tertiary cancer care hospital in Central India. Since inception, the hospital has treated nearly 70,000 patients, performed close to 13,000 major surgeries and delivered over 90,000 chemotherapy sessions, improving access to oncology services closer to patients’ homes.

Vedanta Hospital at Lanjigarh in Kalahandi, Odisha, serves over 60,000 people annually through free consultations, diagnostics, medicines, physiotherapy and specialist services. Its mobile health units also reach nearly 20,000 residents in remote tribal villages. The hospital has recently launched a 24x7 telemedicine facility in partnership with Tata 1mg.

Vedanta’s Nand Ghar initiative is also supporting healthcare delivery through tech-enabled anganwadi centres focused on nutrition, early childhood care, primary healthcare and women empowerment. The programme includes immunisation, health camps, digital healthcare access and AI-enabled anaemia screening across 300 Nand Ghars in Rajasthan.

The Group said its healthcare interventions are aligned with Sustainable Development Goals covering health, gender equality and reduced inequalities. Through hospitals, mobile medical units, digital platforms and community health workers, Vedanta aims to strengthen local healthcare systems and improve last-mile access to quality healthcare.
