Vedanta's Stall Emerges a Major Draw at Utkarsh Odisha

Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, put together a comprehensive showcase of its operations at the ‘Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha 2025’ conclave, with diverse exhibits encompassing its ESG practices, cutting-edge technologies, and social impact initiatives. On Day 1 of the conclave, Vedanta announced a fresh Rs 1 trillion investment in Odisha, which is set to contribute significantly to accelerating the state’s industrial growth. The company’s presence at the investment conclave was led by the Founder and Chairman of Vedanta Group, Mr. Anil Agarwal, whose leadership continues to drive the company’s long-term commitment to the state’s prosperity.

At the event, Vedanta Aluminium showcased its efforts in being a catalyst for employment, education, and infrastructure, transforming Odisha into an industrial powerhouse. Visitors at the stall received a hands-on demonstration of the company’s world-class products and insights into the company’s extensive contributions to the state’s progress. Vedanta Aluminium also introduced visitors to its upcoming Aluminium Park, set to be India’s largest metals park. Spanning 253 acres, the park is envisioned as a one-stop hub for downstream industries to utilise high-quality hot metal from the company’s mega aluminium plant at Jharsuguda, Odisha.

The Nand Ghar zone stood out, highlighting the company’s flagship CSR initiative with 531 Nand Ghars, or modern anganwadis, established across Odisha. The stall also showcased products made by local artisans, including Dhokra art, Vedamrit Honey, and spices, alongside live tattoo art by Saura artisans from Kalahandi, all of which are supported by the company.

Commenting on the company’s presence at the event, Sunil Gupta, COO, Vedanta Aluminium said, “The Make in Odisha conclave has been an excellent platform to showcase our partnership with Odisha, bringing together key stakeholders from across the world to demonstrate the immense value and potential of the state. With Prime Minister Modi's vision of transforming the state into a growth engine for Viksit Bharat by 2047, his faith resonates deeply with our commitment to not just economic progress, but also to empowering people. We are committed to exploring more avenues to create lasting impact, improving the lives of communities, providing opportunities and building a brighter, more prosperous future for all.”

Vedanta Aluminium’s impact extends beyond industrial growth, with extensive social development initiatives that have transformed lives across Odisha. The company has empowered over 20,000 women through skill training and microfinance initiatives, and its focus on education has augmented literacy levels in remote regions of the state. To improve community health, Vedanta Aluminium provides access to quality medical care through mobile health units and modern facilities, reaching thousands in remote, neglected areas. With a commitment to sustainable operations and Net Zero Carbon by 2050, Vedanta is leading the way in responsible growth and green manufacturing practices, positioning Odisha as a global benchmark.
