Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) has proposed to develop a 350 sq km settlement across the city harbour, where the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) lands, aiming to make the region the fastest-growing centre in the country in the next decade on the back of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) and the MTHL. The proposed town, with an area of 350 sq km, will have infrastructure like transport connectivity developed before the buildings. The size of Mumbai is over 600 sq km while that of Navi Mumbai is 344 sq km and the Naina city being planned by Cidco next door is 370 sq km. The project is set to be completed by 2025.
